Passport!?

I applied for my passport 12 weeks before i was supossed to leave for Germany now its down to 2 weeks before im supossed to leave. Is there anything i can do to make sure i get this thing.

I just been through the same situation. Last monday (6/18)was our 14 days before departure to Asia and I renewed my kids passports Apr.5. I have been in panic and frustrated for the past couple days. Our plane leaves July 1. And finally, today (6/28 Thursday) I suppose to receive passports by FedEx.

Of course you have to call passport center to let them know that you are leaving within 2 weeks. Call as early (like 6:00am) as you can (you are unable to get a good sleep when worrying about your passport anyway).

And most important, call your state senators or congressmens' local offices. They are able to check your passport status (more and likely still in the lock box) and expedited it. And that's why even though I choosed the routine service way back the beginning of April, we will get passports through FedEx.

Make these phone calls right now. Since you still have 2 weeks, I hope this information will help you get your passport in time.

Contact the number they gave you at the Passport Office--immediately, in order for them to expedite it quickly. Don't waste any time.
It seems that you paid for regular, not expedited service. If you can get through to the National Passport Information Center via phone, you can pay to expedite due to having less than 14 days before travel. You will need your locator number that is available on travel.state.gov (online status check) to find your passport status. Good luck, it is hell getting a passport on time right now.
