My passports have not arrived yet and i am leaving in a week!? |
Travel Info Ok look: It all started when we applied for our passports. Somehow, the chicago passport agency got the idea that we wanted to pick up our passports but WE DON'T. They have been ready since June 13 and just sitting there. My dad has already contacted our congressman, so she left a message that te passports be sent by overnight delievery. No one will tell me anything, weather they are on the way or still sitting there. I made an appointment a while ago to go pick them up on Monday July 2nd. So should I go to chicago? What should I do? Please post ANY advice that you have. Thank you so much! Travel Tips The passport agency is seriously screwed up - my aunt just had to deal with this 2 weeks ago because my cousin's passport wasn't there and they ended up getting it a day before the left. Call the congressman again and see if they can give you a tracking number for the passports - my aunt got one and was able to see that they were going to be delivered the day before she was set to go to Chicago to get one in person. While it's kind of a nightmare to have to travel to get your passport - I would definatly go to Chicago if you don't have them by tomorrow. Do you definatly have an appointment on the 2nd or are you on their waiting list? Regardless, I hear it's best to get there around 5:30am and just wait until they open. The office is located on South Dearborn right near the Sears Tower, so it will be safe at that time (just have someone else with you, and it will be fine). I know it's a nightmare, but it would be worse if they didn't come and you couldn't go. Good luck and happy travels! Others Hope this helps : http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/pro... on the passport website, there is a specific number to call if you are leaving within 7 days and still do not have it. im in the same situation as you! i am scared half to death because i am leaving for Buenos sires, Santiago, and Lima on the 4th and i still dont have it!!!! (i got mine on overnight delivery both ways AND i got it expidited and it was been a month now!) |
