Are you allowed to bring musical instruments aboard a plane? |
Travel Info I have a trumpet I would like to bring with me but I don't know if it's allowed. Travel Tips Yes, you can bring musical instruments on a plane. Just make sure that the case can fit either below the chair in front of you or in an overhead space, otherwise they will take it and put it in the captain's closet, and I don't know about you, but there is no way on earth I would want someone else carrying around my instrument. If it is too big for either of those places, you should be allowed to keep it at your feet, and just put it in your lap for landing and taek-off. Source(s): Musician for 12 years Other Travel Tips Yes - you can carry your trumpet on board. Just in case the guards at the security check point give you a hard time, you can ask them to show you the official prohibited and permitted items list from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Follow this link to TSA's list: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/p... The above answers cover it, but I just wanted to add that your musical instrument will count as 1 of your allowed 2 carry on's. |
