Can I pack __________?

In the checked luggage, can I pack?:

1) Flat/Hair Straightening Iron?
2) Ipod dock?
3) Perfume? (of 3.4oz)
4) Cds?

I haven't been on a plane since before 9/11 so I don't know what the restrictions are. Also is there any everyday item I may be overlooking that is prohibited?

Also, is it a bad idea to wear wedge heels (around 5 in) when boarding? Im thinking they might think theres something hidden in it.

Let me clear this up for you. You can put all of the above items in your checked luggage. (Though I wouldn't pack anything of value in there just in case they lose your stuff, as they did mine just last week).

As for your carry-ons.... on a domestic flight, you are allowed 1 carry on small enough to fit in the overhead bin, and one perosonal item such as a purse, camera bag, diaper bag, etc. If you are planning on bringing anything liquid, gel or paste on the plane with you, it has to be in a 3oz. container or smaller, and it has to be put in a 1qt. or smaller ziplock bag. There's only (1) 1 qt. bag allowed per passenger. Lip gloss, chap stick, mascara and liquid liner count. And- let's say you have a 6 oz. container of something that's half full, they won't let you take it. It has to be in a container that's 3oz or less.

Regarding your shoes- it doesn't matter because they will make you take them off anyway. That also goes for any sweater of jacket you might be thinking of wearing. Source(s): I travel A LOT for work.
Other Travel Tips

1, 2, and 4 are okay I do believe. No fluids unless you shove it in your suitcase which they do not check. I think the shoes are okay. They don't really have restrictions on shoes.
Go to WWW.TSA.GOV. It has the most up to date information on what is allowed in checked luggage. You will have to take off your shoes and have them go through the xray machine at the security checkpoint. My advice to you is wear a pair of shoes that you can slip on and off easily. Heels are nice but unfortunately they are not practical in this situation. Good luck and have a great trip.
I would check with the airlines website or call. Liquids are ok as long as there 3oz. or less and they must be labeled. (I could be wrong- double check me before you head out)!
the liquid has to be less then 3 oz.that is including lipstick.Heels,they will make you take your shoes off anyway.
