Pregnant and traveling, can I have a water bottle? |
Travel Info I am 17 weeks preggo and not really showing, I can make it show if I have to, but I was looking on the airport website and it said that there is restrictions on what can be taken through security. If you have a medical condition you can take food and water through security, is pregnancy a medical condition in this case? Travel Tips Why not buy a bottle of water once you get on the other side of security? Others You can take a water bottle thru, but you have to buy the water after passing thru security. Or take an empty bottle and fill from a water fountain after going thru security. I would take the water in and see what they say.. most of the time, they don't even detect it! Yes, you can definitely take food. I take it all the time in case of flight delays or inadequate food on the plane. Best thing to do is put Gatorade or something in the water like juice to color it, and tell them it is a "electrolyte hydrating solution" (most of them are too dumb to understand the term) and you are taking it as you are pregnant or diabetic. The worst they will do is throw it or as ask you to taste it. In that case, use your empty bottle to fill up, or buy a bottle at the airport. probably.Phone the airport and ask I just flew a couple days ago and they are being extremely strict with liquids. I bought a bottle of water inside the airport, after I went through the security check-point, and they wouldn't allow it on the plane. They do a second search of your bags right before you walk on the plane and they'll take away the water. I would doubt that being pregnant will allow you to take water right now, they are being sooooo careful. They allow diabetics to carry a juice bottle and a snack...check with your airline! |
