What type of clothes do you need to take to Colorado in September?

Travel Info
I live in Arkansas and am going to Denver Colorado in September, I am not sure about the weather and what type clothing I should pack and take with me (shorts, jeans, a coat, sweater etc) Any info will be helpful, thanks

Travel Tips
I live in the mountains outside of Denver- so if you're planning to come up here (Vail, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Keystone, etc.), you'll definitely need warmer clothes than if you were to just stay in Denver (it's definitely mild there that time of year.)

For us in the mountains, you always wear long pants at night- even in the middle of summer, and you definitely need a light jacket if you plan to wear short sleeves. During the day, it gets warm and sunny- beautiful Indian summer- sometimes upper 70's, so for day, so bring lots of shorts and tees.

that's funny. i moved from colorado to hot springs! you might need anything from a parka to shorts. the trick is to make sure you can dress in layers. it can be 75 in the day and get down to freezing at night. or it could be 90 or snowing. but go to a second hand store and but anything you need that you didn't bring and you will have a great time no matter what.
