What does cabin baggage mean is airplane related terms? |
Travel Info I need to follow some rules that apply to only cabin baggage. is that the carry on baggage or the baggage you give to them before u board? Travel Tips Carry on baggage refers to the stuff you bring on the plane with you. The stuff you check in with them is referred to as check-in baggage. This is the stuff you get a claim check for. Yes it is carry on,but you should check with the airlines you will be using pertaining to the regulations.Airlines differ somewhat on the size of carry on baggage.You will be checked by security as to the content of your carry on.Be sure that you know what is allowed on board before you go through security. Trust me,I travel (trans Atlantic) a lot. No this is referring to carry on mother n laws only. You must stuff them in the seat pocket in front of you. All airlines have different regulations pertaining to cabin baggage. In general, cabin baggage refers to the carry-on bag you take with you on the plane. If you take a bag with you and the airline staff takes it from you just prior to boarding the plane, telling you they are going to have to check it, that is not considered carry-on, but it is treated as carry-on baggage up until that point (meaning it must meet the guidelines for all other carry-on bags - going through security, no liquids or other FAA-restricted items). Depending on the airline and if you are flying domestically or interntionally, the amount of carry-on items varies. Most domestic flight allow one carry-on (that will fit under the seat or in the overhead compartment) and one personal item (purse, camera bag, etc.). On some longer flights they will allow two carry-on bags. And on some flights that are in smaller aircraft they do not allow any carry-on bags. So be sure to check with your airline prior to flying. I believe all airlines will have this information on their Web site and you can get the details there - number of carry-on bags allowed, size limits, restricted items, etc.). |
