How much Will a passport cost?

We are going on a honeymoon this October and I know I need a passport, but the catch is that we dont' know where we are going. (It is supposed to be a gift and a suprise from his parents and all I know is that we are going to need a passport. Money is limted, How much do they run?

You absolutely need to apply for passports pronto.And have them expedited...the fee is $60.00 for expediting them. See first website for all info for passport applications and 2nd site for list of fees. Hope all works out well for you. Passports are currently taking more than 16 weeks if you do not expedite them. You may be too late for a Passport if leaving USA soil. The back log of passports is about 3 -5 months. Perhaps you have not been following this is the news. The first time passports are the worst as they take longer. So whoever is giving the surprise should be aware of this. Also if you are getting married that is another obstacle unless you retain your own name along with that of your husband. Check all this out.

Assuming you are asking about a US passport, the cost is $97 for an adult and $82 for a child (under age 16).

Note that you need to apply for a US passort ASAP as it is currently taking at least 12 weeks from the date you submit the application at the post office. If your trip is before late October you need to pay the extra $60 for expedited processing.

don't listen to whoever said an American passport is $160!!!!! I'm pretty sure mine ended up being about $125 all together. There are two different fees you have to pay separately. Like one to the post office, and another to the government/passport people or whatever.

And it doesn't cost $60 to expedite, it costs $200. So apply ASAP!
