Can a passenger have the luggage of more than 30 kg? |
Travel Info I am flying New Delhi via Air India from Bangkok, i checked my luggages weight. its over 30 kg. around 35/36. Normally i think they don't allow you to carry more than 30 kg or in case if they allow . Do they charge for extra 3 or 4 kg and if so how much they do? Travel Tips Each airline is different. From what I can figure out for Air India is unless you have a First Class ticket you are over weight for an International flight. The economy allowance is only 20 kg. They will allow more, but will charge per kg more. Sometimes you can get away with a bit over weight, but many airlines are cracking down on this recently. Plus being double your allotment, and that allotment sounding low to me, I think you are likely to get dinged. I can't find the charge per kg, but it is usually expensive. Other Travel Tips If its "carry on" luggage they usually have a limit of 15-20 kilos, you are still allowed to take it on but you will pay about $4 per kilo over the weight limit. So your looking at about $60. If you check it in the limit may be more and not cost you anything. I travel all over SE Asia and the middle East and every airport has their own limits and fees. |
