I agree with Pierluisa.
Somewhere in the station along the highway there are usually the cleaning people who just put a small dish out of bathrooms to collect money... but it's something voluntaire, usually I pay nothing.
In touristic places, where there are a lot of people, some toilettes cost something, but you can always go in a bar, take a coffee and use the toilet.... it's better and you can also drink a (usually) good coffee! And not so expensive (0.80 - 1 鈧?more or less). Source(s): I'm italian too
