According to me Matsyagandha Express is the best train for travel from Mumbai to Goa.
You can take train number 2431 RAJDHANI EXPRESS from *MADGAON at 10:35 to reach VASAI ROAD near Mumbai the same evening at 19:35.
It has AC 1st Class, AC 2 tier and AC 3 tier.
