Others From my personal experience I always suggest people to stay at Guest Houses as you feel more at home although your on a holiday. I've had a really nice personal experience at The Paul's Guest House in Siolim. Well the rates start of @ Rs.500 a Night depending on the no. of people to be accommodated. The Paul's Guest House Contact Nos: 0832 2272552 / 9822338216 Email: dusty_angel@email.com Website: http://goa.click.in/classified/housing/h... Hope I was of some help. Personal experience at the Guest House The best and the widest network of hotels in Goa at all the prime locations are that of GTDC. Goa Tourism. Their booking needs to be done atleast 15 days in advance. You can make payment through any UTI Bank branch and fax the deposit slip to them to confirm your choice of resort. Visit their website for details www.goa-tourism.com. They have a profile of all their hotels. They have the most reasonable rates compared to what hotels charge this time of the year. And they have their own tour packages for sight-seeing, with pick-up and drop facilities all thrown into one, you will have a good time, at an economical rate. The best place to stay is the Miramar resort which you might find hard to get in Januar 2007 or you can settle for Panjim residency which is right on the water-front from where you can go for the river cruise - visit other places u will get all details u want from this site. it gives u hotels in all categories along with address, phone etc: http://www.hotelsgoaindia.com/ i always stayed in benaulim, south goa, about 6 km from margao, south of colva benaulim itself is a quiet place, not much nightlife, but you can easily rent a bike or taxi for sightseeing lotus suites - 2 minutes away from the beach - bedroom, living room, kitchen - price around 1500 rs, depends on season - good indian food at reasonable prices http://www.lotussuitesgoa.com/index1.htm... royal palms - 12 minutes walk to the beach - bedroom, living room - price around 1000 rs, depends on season - food more according to the taste of foreign tourists http://www.royalresorts.com.au/resorts/r... It depends for what reason u are going to goa & whats ur budget. If its a honeymoon type stay wherein you just enjoy the beaches and the quaint atmosphere then South goa is for you and if u are there for a good party time with both relaxing beach holiday as well as enjoy the night life then North Goa is for you. South Goa mainly has all the 5 star properties while North goa has many budget hotels. I stayed at Villa Goesa resort which is on the Baga-Calangute beach on Cobra Vaddo and is a very nice & clean place. The location is excellent. Contach Nos. 2277535, 2281120. A lot of foreigners also stay at Arambol beach which is about 2 hrs drive from the airport & is a secluded beach. Not many hotels in there but the local villagers do provide cheap accomodation. |
