But I know it's a matriarchal society and men and women have equal rights. They haven't changed customs or ways of living since the Spaniards came 500 years ago. Imagine what we could learn from them. If you go to the islands bring a lot of mosquito repellent. Those mosquitoes are crazy! Others I grew up living among the Kuna People of Panama.
