Travel Info What is everyday life like in Panama in a small town? Travel Tips It is quiet, but with kids always with their bikes, and reggaeton music. It is common to say "Buenas" when you meet someone. Kids who are more middle class walk to take public buses (that's right, only private ones have their own little buses). Everyone uses a uniform, obligatory. Most usually graduate to go to Panama City, but the illusions are always not the best, as unemployment gives a rise to that. People usually have a small store they call plainly "La tienda", mostly with Chinese people, to get everyday things like soda, the newspaper, etc. Kids like to play on the street soccer, girls usually talk about nails, etc. Adults are most likely always friends with neighbors. Christmas usually brings a whole street together, and sharing your food is polite. If people live in the "interior" or rural areas, poverty will be bigger with less water of electricity, but people are fine with it. People there always usually have chickens, or a cow. Men usually will wear a common straw hat and women sandals, sometimes curlers in their hair.
