As anyone been to Panama?

I'm thinking of moving there for a year, getting a job with a US company that pays embloyee to go down there and get paid more than the Panamians (spelt wrong I know...). But I was wondering what it was like

I went through the canal on a ship...does that count?..But I have worked in some odd places..Northern Ireland when the fighting was going on, Rhodesia in the days of Ian Smiths "Illegal government" South Africa under apartheid and I survived so as for Panama just do it.
