Travel Info I am traveling to Colon Panama and need to know if anyone knows if there is wheelchair accessible tours/buses? Travel Tips I don鈥檛 know if the tour busses in Colon are wheelchair accessible or not, but I do know I have seen the generosity of the Panamanian people toward physically challenged/handicapped individuals. You will have no problem finding assistance with loading and unloading a person in a wheelchair from a bus or taxi. It鈥檚 not unusual to see a small group of pedestrian men helping to ease a wheelchair of curbside. I鈥檝e been living here a year now and am confident you will find the people generous. For other information on Colon, Panama such as free zone shopping see http://www.panamaexpertos.com/ Source(s): http://www.panamaexpertos.com/ Other Travel Tips This country is not really handicap accessible. You could bring your own wheel chair and be lifted onto the bus, I suppose. Outside Panama City, sidewalks and streets are uneven, not marked where holes are, etc. If you are traveling with someone, it can be done. By yourself would be difficult unless you can book tours which will find an assistant for you. Colon is not a popular or particularly safe place in Panama, unless you're going to visit friends or family. You stated tour buses.. YES... they have wheelchair accessibility on tour buses but NOT on the city buses Not really. |
