Travel Tips What she was probably refering to is that the person from Colombia had to show $500 to enter Panama so that while there will not be a burden on there society. Proof that they could pay for there stay Others 500usd ? I ususally pay 5usd to enter and 20 to leave. Maybe they were thinking in pesos Colombianos because 500 pesos=5usd. The first guy is right. For a visa to panama you need to show a networth of at least 500 big ones. For most a credit card or bank statement or just plan old assumption works(I:E: Americans). Remember your friends are coming from Colombia. There are some cultural issues between them two that you should probably research before your trip. Not to worry you, but.....well you'll see. LOL. That is not true!!! But keep in mind that in Panama you will pay with dollars and you may need to verify the rate of your monetary unit for the transfer. Let me explain. Colombian citizens in order to visit Panama they need to provide a 2 way ticket in order for them to enter the country. Probably they want to buy a one way ticket, and therefore they need to show at least 500 dollars in cash at the airport to show that they have enough cash to get by. Tell them to get the 2 way ticket instead and they shouldn't have any problems. |
