Meat and vegetable and consumption rates in panama? |
Travel Info Meat and vegetable and consumption rates in panama? Travel Tips Meat is 37% and the vegi's are 63% Others I disagree, I 'll say meat 70% and vegetables 30%. Like my husband always says, "Vegetables are for farm animals." lol. Your best bet is to search information available on the UNICEF websites. Your answer depends on a lot of varying factors. Panama is an isthmus and there is an extreme amount of coast line on both side of our adopted country. So the availability of fish is abundant. (Panama is an indigenous term meaning plenty of fish, trees and butterflies) But once you leave the coast the price does climb considerably unless you live in Panama City where most things are brought to sale from the interior. If you look at the cultural foods you get an idea of the amount of consumption of vegetables to meat to rice. Paella, lots of rice, a few vegetables and a bit of protein. Sancocho, a lot of broth with root vegetables and a chicken cut into small pieces. Unfortunately a lot of hot dogs and canned ham are consumed here; they aren't as unstable in storage as fresh meats.
