What do panamanians eat on carnival?

Travel Info
I need specific examples. Something easy and simple.

Travel Tips
People in Panama do not anything specifically in Carnival, what happens is that because a lot of people travel to other parts of the countries (small towns on the countryside) they tend to eat some of the usual local foods, that generally are the national dishes, for the people who prefer to stay in the cities and enjoy the celebration close to home, they do eat "Panamanians Fast Food".

Here are a few examples in each of the categories:

National (local) dishes:

- "Sancocho": Chicken Soup with a heavy broth composed of vegetables (yuca, potatoes, 帽ame) and chicken legs or other chicken parts. Heaviliy seasoned with cilantro.

- "Carima帽ola": Yuca based pastry, with meat or chicken inside. Salty.

- "Puerco": Chunks of pork that have been roasted and cut into little strips.

- "Arroz con Pollo": Rice mixed with pieces of chicken, olives, chilis, cilantro and local spices.

Panama Fast Food (Sold by street hawkers)

- "Carne en Palitos": Grilled Meat on a wooden skewer. Smaller that a shisk-kabab. Marinated on red sauce (mild or spicy). Runs around $1.00 each.

- "Chorizo": Panamenia Sausage, comes from the Spanish Sausage, can be spicy too.

- "Empanada": Corn based pastry iwith meat or chicken inside. Yellow in Appearance.

Other Travel Tips
they eat other Panamanians, that is why they call it carnival. they get carnivorous only once a year. it really is quite amazing and delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Manuel is correct! More than what they eat, it's where they eat. There will be a lot of vendors on the street with push carts, bicycle powered carts, or motorcycle powered carts. there will be small bbq grills are set up selling chicken and hots dogs spiraled on a wooden shish kabob stick. Push carts with huge blocks of ice selling the Snow cones (I can't remember their spanish name right now) they are just like ours in the US but in addition to the fruity flavor they are topped with canned milk to make them creamy. Pieces of fresh tropcial fruits from other stands. Yes the tourists will eat in the restaurants but a lot of local people will eat on the street corners if not for a full meal then for great snack.
