Untrue. Panama in general has very clean water. Boquete (as far as I know, i've been there about 5 times) doesn't have water supply issues, and if an issue is to happen, Inns and hotels have a water tank reserve.
I am Panamanian and i've been to boquete and Chiriqui many times
