Does the amount of rain in Panama differ throughout the rainy season, especially near Panama City? |
Travel Info Are certain months rainier than others? Specifically, is October a high or low rain month (relative to the others)? Travel Tips October is the highest in rain (sorry). But, my friend, good news to you, in the Atlantic Area (Col贸n and its beautiful Caribbean beaches) there is a sort of small summer for a couple of weeks around that time of year. (We call it veranillo). In the city, it rains almost everyday, around 2 in the afternoon. Why? Beats me. Today鈥榮 been sunny all day, no signs of rain, but in a couple of hours, who knows. Edit: The arco seco (roughly, dry arch) is an area where it doesnt rain very much. That is the area where the Decameron Hotel is at. You can have your share of sun there. (The beaches are: Playa Blanca, Juan Hombr贸n, Santa Clara, etc) Others Climate is nuts everywhere, thanks to all of us. We used to get a "Veranito de San Juan" around mid-June but those days are gone. October and November are the rainiest but forecast predicted rainer June and July. Check on www.hidromet.com.pa Thespiana is correct in all her information. However it seems to me that no matter how much rain we are getting in the city it seems to rain less on the coasts from Chame on. Again, not that is doesn't rain, just seems like it doesn't rain as long or as hard. There is a mountain range just outside of Arraujan or maybe it's La Chorrera, can't remember which; but it seems to stop the storms from passing into the country from the city and visa versa http://www.panamaexpertos.com/ |
