That depends on where you're taking the RER. There are 8 zones that make up the network, with central Paris being zone 1. If you're taking the RER within Paris and it's immediate outskirts (zones 1 and 2), you use the purple metro tickets. Those are 1,40E each or 10,90E for a carnet.

Beyond zones 1 and 2, the price is determined by the distance traveled. For example, a ticket to Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport (in zone 5) costs 8,10E. Like in the metro, you can buy RER carnets of 10 (for a discount of 20%), but unlike the metro they are not "universal" tickets. They are specific to the departure and arrival stations.
