What is the Luxembourg Gardens famous for?

Travel Info
And could you please say it in French, too?
Thanks! : )

Travel Tips
Well I guess the lawns, the Palais de Luxembourg (large building, very beautiful), the fountains... the view of Sacre Coeur and the Observatory of Paris. They often have photo exhibitions on the fences and people doing Tai Chi in the mornings. They have some cultivated garden areas and some more open areas.

In French: without accents, sorry.

Others
Public tennis courts, pony rides for little kids, a playground, chess tables, an artificial lake for miniature sailboats, jogging paths, and generally lots of people (Parisians and tourists alike) hanging out on the weekends. (Traduction disponible sur simple demande).
Personal experience.

je suis tres desolee [about the accents, i dont know how to make them on my computer, but i hope you can understand my french with out them].
I'll say just in French, but not using the French spelling: Les Jardins du Luxembourg sont les plus belles jardins de Paris.
Hi! Thanks to all the English speakers writting in French: i do appreciate this effort ;)

These gardens are famous above all because of the "Palais du Luxembourg", ie the french senate. We can consider these gardens as the senate's ones. Otherwise, it's a typical "jardin 脿 la fran莽aise" with wide straight paths, fountains, trees... And the location is also an advantage: closed to the "Quartier Latin".

Translation:

A bient么t ! Cheers!
You'll find inside the garden the original of the Statue of Liberty Bartoldi himself offered to the city of Paris.
