Do you prefer the Paris Metro or the London Underground?

How does the Paris Metro compare to London's Tube?

I've never been to Paris before but I've hopped to London several times (my university isn't too far away). In my opinion, the Tube is efficient enough and gets you where you need to go, but it's far too EXPENSIVE!

Based on online information, the Paris Metro seems to be a lot cheaper. The RER and other commuter trains also cost a lot less to ride than their equivalents in Greater London. But in terms of comfort, efficiency, pleasure, everything else... how do the Paris Metro and the RER measure up to rail transport in London?

Thanks ^^

The Paris metro is a lot cheaper, less noisy and much faster. There are trains much more often than in London and it is more modern. What is more, in London, many lines are often out of order. You never know how long it is going to take to get from one point to another. The reason for all this is probably because the London Tube is much older than the Paris metro.

tube is cleaner and in my opinion better service...but in terms of getting there and back....its the same
I've been on both, and I find the Metro to be a little easier to navigate than the Tube, perhaps because it doesn't reach as many stops as in London. I'm not sure of the cost, but if you take either one frequently, as a commuter, you can get reduced rate tickets. Whatever city, it's part of the experience of visiting. I love both cities very much!
The Metro is far superior.

Not only is it much cheaper but it has significantly more stations (369 compared to 309) in a more compact metropolitan area. The higher station density means that almost every place in Paris is closer to a station than in London.
I've never been on the Tube before, but the metro is way better, in my opinion. It's not expensive, like you said, and there are padded chairs.

Some are a little older and grimier, but all in all quite fast, and not too bad of a ride. Efficiency -- well, during the day you can expect a subway going to wherever you want to go every four minutes!
Very helpful both if you're a tourist or citizen.
