Paris in the Autumn. can anyone recommend a good hotel .? |
Travel Info in the city centre.the hotel between 2 stars and 3 stars.also where to get a good deal for bus/metrso tickets etc. ta Travel Tips As wonderful as the Four Seasons George V is it certainly doesn't come into your remit of 2 to 3 star hotel. I would personally recommend the Hotel Britannique close to the Louvre. It is in a good location close to the Louvre and the Ile De La Cite (Notre Dame) and is 3 star. It is very reasonably priced for the location, it is a very charming boutique hotel with most rooms having balconies. www.hotel-britannique.com Others George V Left bank. hey we stayed in the lenox montparnasse over new years and with was fine! also you should just get your travel passes over there, the have some good ones that last 3 days or 7 or 10 etc I always recommend Les Argonautes on the rue de la Huchette, right in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Tiny, unairconditioned rooms but tons of charm. Two stars. San Michel Metro line right there, a bridge away from Notre Dame. Be sure to request a shower in your room. An excellent small hotel 2/3 stars, is the 'Libertel. hotel, "Lyons Bercy", which is well-situated, slightly east of centre, with good access to Metro, rail etc. I like it, because it was well-run but informal, and also because it had stylish Art-Deco type decor. It has a web-site - so take a look. It was redec'ed a couple of years back, and many rooms have a cute balcony. A problem I have found with many Parisian hotels is the noise factor. But this one, while relatively central, does allow you to sleep at night, its in a quiet area. Go to the four seasons george v. See www.fourseasons.com. It's fab!. |
