How much for a ticket to tour the Palace of Versailles? |
Travel Info Do we have to do a guided tour or can we go through the palace on our own? Is it worth going to? Travel Tips You can tour the Chateau and its grounds on your own. Entrance is 25 euros (during high season). The official website (in English) is here: http://www.chateauversailles.fr/en/... It is absolutely worth visiting and a delightful day trip from Paris. Take a lunch with you and have a picnic on the grounds. Here's another little hint. The best way to get there is by taking the Metro to the Pont de Sevres station. Exit the station and there is a covered bus stop area. Look for bus number 171 which is clearly marked as going to the Chateau. It will drop you off right at the front gate. You can use metro tickets to pay for the bus. It will take three ordinary tickets in each direction. When you enter the bus there is a machine which will punch your tickets (put in all three at once). doing this means that the cost of getting there will be a total of 8 metro tickets (3 for the bus and one for the metro each way). If you buy your tickets by the "carnet" the price for each is just 1.09 euros making the cost just 8.72 euros round trip. Others Yes it is worth visiting. It is a beautiful palace. 25 Euros. it is an awsome place! but don't get lost in the gardens like i did! |
