Travel Tips
Bonjour Val.
Okay I am not a french girl but I know Paris rather well.
And you will see it is a fun city for all kinds of ages.
First of all bring GOOD walking shoes 'cause seeing Paris on foor is THE best way as you will see it is a magnificent city filled with historical building at every corner.
PLAN your day is the msot important thing; I ahve no idea how long you will be in the city for but for instance you can see the area of The Montmartre/Pigalle in one day. Next day stay in the area of the louvre and Palais d脫rsay. I am not a big museumfreak myself- but these are 2 museums that you just cannot miss to see (and you just do not have to spend days in there either).
Just walk along the 'boulevards" take the side streets/buy a baguette (sandwich) and something todrink in a store and have lunch on a bench in one of the many many parks. If you want to see Paris differently take a boatride on the Seine THE best time is at night when all the buidlings are lit. Fabulous...
Shoppingwise: trendy stores (but expensive) you will find along the Champs Elysees, but for the younger ones try the area of Centre Pompidou/Les Halles. These places have been completely redone and most of the young Parisians hang out there as well. Along the Boulevards you will find lotsa shops as well, as well in the area of the university on the left bank of the Seine.
REALLY fun to do as well is to visit the Marche aux Puces (porte Clingancourt/open on we only).
Lotsa funky/second hand clothing to be found there as well as lotsa gadgets. But you really have to like 'old junk' to appreciate this place for sure.
AKWARD places to visit: the famous cemetary Pere Lachaise (famous people buried here)!
Anyhow you will love Paris I promise you; one thing not to do is 'stay too long in the touristy areas, but try to wander around the city. And you will see Val the Parisians are not all that obnocious.
Rest me to wish you lotsa fun et bon voyage!
