What should we do with a 12 hour lay-over in Paris and what's the easiest way to get around?

Travel Info
My husband and I are traveling to Greece, but have a stop in Paris. We lang in Paris at 7am and leave at 7pm. We would like to go into the city and see a few things

Travel Tips
That should be time enough to catch the RER B train (if you're using CDG airport) into the city.

Get off at the St. Michel stop and when you exit the station you will be in the Latin Quarter right next to the Seine. Notre Dame will be immediately visible to you across the river (actully in the river on the Ile de la Cite).

After seeing Notre Dame you can re-enter the train station and take the RER C line "direction Pontoise" to the Champs de Mars-Tour Eiffel station to see the Eiffel Tower.

Then re-enter the station but look for the signs leading to the Bir Hakeim metro Line #6 "direction - Etoile" and ride it to the Place D'Etoile and the Arc de Triomphe.

You can then take Metro line #1 "Direction Chateau de Vincennes" to the Chatelet station and transfer back to the RER B to return to the airport.
Others
Stay in the Ile de la cit茅. Walk on the streets, see saint michel place.
You'll waste a long time in travel to visit ND, eiffel tower and the champ elys茅es. (you've one hour between ND and CDG airport).
You can easily take the train into Paris, I believe Gar du Nord, and then take the Metro around the city. Shouldn't take more than an hour to get to the city center. Just about everything you'd want to see is within walking distance of the metro, so you should see a lot.
there rae plenty of half day tours available, which should cost about 70 euros
cover the most of the places like Opera, Champs Elys茅es, Arch of Triumph, Eiffel tower, Louvre Museum, Notre Dame cathedral,.. including the river cruise..
If Euro Disneyworld is near the airport, I would take reliable transportation to Euro Disneyworld and back - especially if your French is not that good.

Paris is a very confusing city and you could wind up on the wrong Metro or even in a neighborhood where people burned cars and kept the police at bay.
