Transportation from the airport to the city(champs-elys)? |
Travel Info I need to connect to a train what are the train stations that i should go to (nearest to charles de gauelle airport) in order to arrive at the city, near champs elyees..sowi for the spelling? Travel Tips Hi, the train station (gare) is in the CDG airport. Follow the signs to the "gare". Buy a ticket at one of the blue sncf machines (they take cash or credit cards, it's 8.10 euros - or just buy the ticket at the ticket window - you can use the same ticket for RER and Metro), then just get on the next train (usually every 15 minutes). In "gare" look at the sign and look for a direct train (CDG, Gare du Nord, Chatelet). But no worries, as even the non-direct trains get there in about 30 minutes or so... Then get off at the Chatelet station, then take the metro (line #1 yellow) to Concorde. Then you can walk from Concorde all the way to Arc de Triomphe along the Champs Elysees. Keep your ticket in a handy place as ratp sometimes stops people and asks to look at your ticket. for schedules you can look at http://www.ratp.fr But the bus also works but it just takes a really long time... Other Travel Tips To get there from CDG airport, either take the Air France Bus which stops by the Arc de Triomphe at the top end of the Champs Elysees. Slighter cheaper is to take the suburban railway (the RER) and get off at Chatelet-le-Halles. There simply change trains to Line A and you are only another two stops to Charles -de-Gaulle - Etoile which is the top of the Champs Elysees.
