Cheapest way to move around france? |
Travel Info Cheapest way to move around france? Travel Tips Trains are far cheaper in France than in many other countries (esp UK). Some good deals can be had on the French national rail web site if you book a long time ahead. The trick is, you can place an option (costs free of charge) on a reservation which they hold for a week. Then you can pay and pick it up at a railway station. Alternatively (esp if you are not in France) you can pay online and then pick it up at the railway station shortly before you take the train (but allow enough time for the queue). There are also bargains to be had on a web site where people trade tickets that have been booked ahead cheaply but can't use for whatever personal reason.
