Travel Tips
It's not as bad as people make it sound. With the right resources you can easily find a flat (furnished or not) in central Paris. I've been here a over a year now and have lots of experience with this!

Craigslist can be "ok" but most of these listings are way overpriced for what they are. Many people that list here are americans or english who buy apartments, furnish them, then rent them out. So, prices tend to be more than what you would pay on one of the above sites.

Fusac is not bad either but most listings are like those on craigslist.

The problem is that you need to speak french generally to find something like this. If not, then maybe find someone that can help.

The prices tend to vary greatly depending on which part of the city (this is logical). But, even in the really "nice" arrondissements you can find good prices!

Another important factor is time of year. You don't want to start apartment hunting in the fall as it's too much competition. Best time is RIGHT NOW! But don't wait too long.

Furnished or unfurnished... I recommend unfurnished. Why? Cause it's ALOT cheaper (and more available) and you can furnish an apartment very quickly and cheaply at BHV, IKEA, etc. There are 6 IKEAS in Paris area and they deliver! For 60 euros or so they will bring everything to your apartment.

The "burbs"... Someone else suggested moving to the burbs but DONT! Why move to Paris for a year if you're living outside of Paris? This is just silly. Yes, its cheaper and maybe easier to find a place but you will REALLY miss out.

Bon Courage... Source(s): I live here and have 2 years of experience in apartment hunting!

Right now I would bet there are guards spending time "in Paris" for free!
Could you please send me result , Cause I like too.
I went on Craigslist and found some from 650 Euros to 2500 Euros. I didn't delve in too deep, but check out Craigslist for France. Good luck!
Prices for a flat in Paris are very expensive.
You better rent a flat in the Suburb of Paris. South or West because the North and East are not really good areas.
You will need to contact letting agencies ("Agence de Location" or "Agence Immobiliere").
Have a wee look to this web site there is advertisement for flat or studios to rent as well:

I hope it help.
Cheerio.
