I' m French and I go to paris rather often for professional reason
If you want to go there, you will have to see the eiffel tower, the arc de triomphe, the champs elys茅es... all in the same area.
another place to see is the area of "saint-germain", rather close to Notre dame, where jazzmen where used to meet.

and, obviusly, Montmartre, the most poetic and romantic place in Paris!
been there - Paris - ...many times
but still i would love to visit sacre ceur.... i mean - just have a breakfast in one cafe around montmatre - a very typical french breakfast.
or
go to Luxembourg park and have a little lunch picnic in the summer.
or
just a quick look of Art de Triomphe and drive along Champ-Elysees.

and of course - enjoy my French dinner ;) and go to visit my aunty :) she lives there ....
