Travel Info i want to come perth because i'm a mining engineer (actually 2 months later :) ) and i want to work mining sector.. anyway i want to ask; how is perth city life? i curiosity that.. and have you any suggestion for english course? i want to ask more something.. i'll come student visa, first year study english and i want to work somewhere.. can i find a work? and can i enough earn to live perth? (room, eat etc.) lastly can i find a work mining sector after a year? thank you so much for your answer.. :) sorry for my english.. Travel Tips 1. City life in Perth is interesting enough. You can shop in malls, dine in restaurants of various styles, dance in discos, and enjoy lounge bars, night clubs and pubs with many options of beer and wine. Although not as exciting as Sydney and Melbourne, Perth is a good starting point for your Australian experience. 2. English course can be found easily in Perth. To make sure your payment for the course is worthy, try University of Western Australia or Curtin University. Both universities are famous in English courses and mining industry. 3. It depends on your visa status. At first beginning your student visa may not allow you to work legally. However, you can apply for changing to a student visa with work permit after your arrival. Thus, you will be able to work up to 20 hours per week. Finding a job is just like finding a lover. No one can tell you whether you can find one and whether the one you find is good. Even though. Western Australia enjoys the lowest rate of unemployment in Australia. This means finding a job in WA is easier than that in other states of Australia. 4. It depends on how luxurious you want your life to be in Perth. If you cook for yourself most of the time and limit your leisure activities to window shopping only, an ordinary part-time job should be able to keep you alive in Perth. Mining industry in WA pays quite well, so making your living as a mining engineer can let you live in luxury to some degree. 5. No one can tell you whether you will find such a good job after a year's language course. I often see mining engineer/worker-wanted advertisements at local job searching web sites. Hence, good luck for your future in Australia. |
