We found that houses in Northampton (North of Geraldton) or Dongara (South of Geraldton) are much more expensive than in Geraldton itself. In fact, Geraldton seems to be the cheapest in all the state of WA. Why?

Geraldton is just about to go ahead....with a new marina development in the works and gas and iron ore coming through there. The major infrastructure will be put in place within the next 2 years. As it has yet to take off, it is still a cheap (ish) place in WA to buy a house or land. Once it does begin to boom, house prices will sky rocket as they have elsewhere. I think Dongara and Northampton are more expensive as they are beautiful small towns as opposed to the city. I actually have a block of land in Drummonds Cove 10 kms north of Gero...which is a beautiful beach area....for sale if you are interested! LOL! |
