What should I do in Perth during my week-long vacation? |
Travel Info I'm heading to Perth in June, and I've heard its winter then. I'd like to know what I absolutely have to do - food, sights, experiences etc. Travel Tips Here is a list for your consideration.... Barrack Square and the Swan Bells: (www.swanbells.com.au) Barrack Square has recently been redeveloped as a vibrant riverside location in the city. Featuring public art, riverside cafes and restaurants and a lively bar, Barrack Square is a must-see location. The jetties at Barrack Square are also the departure point for river, winery and Rottnest Island cruises, as well as ferries to the Perth Zoo in South Perth. The square is the home of Perth鈥檚 Swan Bells Belltower, one of the world鈥檚 largest musical instruments. The Belltower also features a viewing platform and exhibitions. It鈥檚 open every day except Good Friday and Christmas Day, 10am-5pm. Bell ringing demonstrations take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays between 12pm and 2pm. Horizon the Planetarium uses the latest technology to give visitors a 360-degree experience of the solar system and beyond. Live presentations of Perth鈥檚 night sky can be seen, alongside adventures into deep space. A trip to fremantle is a must for sight see-ing, Followed by quick coffee at Subiaco, Climb the bell tower, Visit wineries at Swan Valley, buy the chocolates, buy some wine. Drive to busselton to see the southen hemisphere's longest jetty. Go to Cottesloe to surf. Etc etc. Have a good time ! |
