Travel Info What is the best holiday destination for a long weekend in Western Australia? Need ideas for a forthcoming trip. Travel Tips I recommend that you take a trip to Rottnest Island and rent a bike and tour the island. Next take a road trip North of Perth to Pinnacles and check out the natural rock formations. If you have lots of time I suggest taking another long road trip South to Albany to see Natural Bridge, The Gap and The Blowhole. Take the coast drive back to Perth and see the Tree Top Walk near Walpole and Nornalup. The Gloucester Tree in Pemberton. Wine tasting in Margrate River. Check out some or all of the caves in the area if you have time. I hope you have plenty of time to see it all. I wish I had more then a week when I was there, but I make the most of my time. It is a fabulous tourist destination with the Busselton jetty a well known location and the underwater aquarium at the end of the jetty a great place for kids and adults alike. From Busselton you are really close to a place called Cowaramup which has an excellent candy store called the Candy Cow. Yummy. It is also not far to Margaret River for wine tasting. There are 2 cheese factories on the way to Margaret River and a Chocolate Factory and a fudge factory. You can do all this, or simply chill out. All in all an easy location to get to and a good base to explore the rest of the southwest. Hope this helps i like road trips. So.... take the Albany Highway from Perth down to Albany and then drive slowly back north through Walpole, Denmark, Pemberton, across to Margaret River and then you are about three hours away from Perth. Lots to see, variety in scenery (forest, coastline, wineries surf small country towns, antiques etc.) Ilove it! i live here BUSSELTON, ALBANY, GERALDTON, KALBARRI, DENMARK AND MANJIMUP. |
