Why oh why dont the au gov allow truckers in on visas? |
Travel Info wanna move over there but visas arent issued to truckers from uk(scotland) sept is the reveiw date on this issue so let me in Travel Tips Contact their embassy and see what ya can do. http://www.immi.gov.au/ Others I'm a trucker myself and have encountered the same problem. If you find a way around it, let me know The reason why truckers (and other low-skilled jobs) aren't on the skilled occupation list is because they are jobs that Australians can be trained to do. Your only hope in getting a visa as a trucker is to get a Regional 457 or Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme. You would need to be sponsored by a company based in regional Australia. You would also need to live and work in regional Australia, e.g. the mines in Kalgoolie, Western Australia. At best, this would be a long shot.
