Is Perth really that boring ? |
Travel Info Why is it that so many people think Perth is boring compared with Melbourne or Sydney? Travel Tips never been to Perth but i don't think it would be boring Melbourne Adelaida Sydney Brisbane Darwin have been int resting places to visit i see no reason that Perth will be different Others From what I heard, Perth is more to like a countryside life. ofcourse there is towns etc bt the lifestyle there is different. Lifestyle in Sydney? is like how u live in Singapore.. Lifestyle in Melbourne? a mixture of urban and rural life... i live in perth and think it is. take for example Rally Australia. why take such a great event and shove it over to sydney....?? why?? because its not making as much money as the hopman cup... WTF excuse me mr tourism minister, but who gives a **** about tennis, as long as rally australia isnt going into deficit every year why shitcan it?? there is a perfect big block of land in cockburn that is accessible from all areas easily (roe from east, kwinana from south, mitchell from north.) yet they want to shove it in some small area within a few k's from the city so people dont have to wait an extra 15 mins to arrive (now that defies logic, anyone who has driven around perth or gone to subiaco oval during a game knows what happens when you put heaps of people in a condensed area trying to leave all at once, like vic park, south perth during skyworks.). so while everyone whinges nothing gets done then when they are nearly out of time theyll decide somewhere stupid to put it...... Perth should be focusing more on entertainment venues for maximum capacities and not shutting down major events. Wake up decision makers!!! apart from that i wouldnt want to live anywhere else btw, Look out for grey nissan xtrails, they might be the new speed camera cars www.rallyaustralia.com I don't think Perth is boring. The people who say that are people who like the 'city' life. It's true, Perth is just a big country town but I don't think people live in Perth for the 'city' life but for all the other things you can do by being near a major city but close to nature. Sydney and Melbourne people rarely leave the city and hence, do 'city' things....like shop and go to out. Now, don't get me wrong, I seen Perthies shop, but I think people prefer Perth for it's balance between a city and being able to easily get OUT of the city to do other things. I liken Perth to Vancouver, Canada - where I now live. Perth to Sydney is like Vancouver to Toronto. Toronto's a great 'city' and there's lots of city things to do - but you can't beat bombing down Whistler mountain on a snowboard or the north shore for bking. It's just different and it depends what type of person you are. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Perth is only boring to boring people. There is lots to do, according to what you are into. But you have to remember perth is only a small city, in population, so it is not fair to compare it to Melbourne or Sydney. The weather is better than Sydney and Melbourne, the beaches are far superior and the people are friendlier. It is a more relaxed lifestyle, it's not the place if you want to go to hip nightclubs and shop at luxury boutiques. |
