Travel Tips Well, in an ideal world, no, but should you decide to return at to this country at some point in the future you will be liable for tax. The system is set up so that it is very hard for people to leave the country and return at a later date without some form of penalty. Others NO GO QUICK! No, but beware if you want to come back for a visit, he can clobber you then big time............ I would just like to add that you will not be cheating the taxman (as he has no money) but "us" taxpayers!!! No the tax men will Emigrating? Huh? No If you are super-rich and leaving the US, there is a law that essentially treats you as if you had died, so they can collect the estate tax now. Other countries may have currency control restrictions. That's all I know. |
