Travel Tips I would recommend getting an international license (IDP) and carry that and your UK license with you at all times. Others pretty sure not - unless rules have changed. my bro in law went a few years back and his uk licence was valid over there. UK License valid for 12 months I believe, unless the rules have changed. Yes it is valid, but I can't remember if theres a time limit on it for whilst you are there.....if there is it'll be along the lines of 3 months plus.... A few tinnies an arrogant attitude and roo bars at the front no probs. Seriously UK licence fine for up to a year I think. If it's a short break you'll be fine, the embassy are pretty quck to get back with any queries if you want to enquire officially. I think the different states all have the same policy. In Queensland it depends on whether you have moved there or whether you are travelling through. If you are a tex paying resident then the license is only valid for 3 months. To convert to a QLD license you need to pass a written exam on road rules. No need for a practical exam. You get to keep your UK icense as well. If you are travelling through and not earning money then your UK license is valid for 1 year. |
