Need info on Perth regarding accomodation?

I will be re-locating to Perth in Dec 2006. Will be working in Balcatta area. I wish to find an accomodation for me and my family. Can I get a place for rental that is fully furnished there? Or I have to buy the furnitures? Can anyone recommend shops that sell 2nd hand furnitures and cars?

Great suggestions above! Can I add that a lot of Balcatta is commercial/light industrial so you may prefer looking in suburbs closer to the ocean, such as North Beach or Karrinyup. The beachside suburb of Scarborough has short-term accommodation, some furnished. A lot of second-hand furniture and cars can be bought privately from a paper called the "Quokka", and to get the stuff home, a trailer or a van can easily be hired. Or you can join the local freecycle group to score second-hand goods that people give away.
Most neighbourhoods have chinese and indian restaurants.

Perth NY is just a 4 corners a bank, tire store, connivance store, porn shop, flower shop, law office, carpet store, furniture store and a junk shop. But no accommodations, unless you drive 2 miles to Vale Mills, just past the scum bag Outlaw biker shop you'll find a motel.
Try www.realestate.com.au, there are a few houses in Balcatta available. There should be some fully furnished. You'll have to check.
Look in www.realestate.com.au for rental properties. Most places are rented unfurnished. They will all have an oven and some may have a fridge and washing machine if you're lucky. You might find a furnished place but it's uncommon.
You can look up www.realestate.com.au for rentals. As previously mentioned, Balcatta do not usually have fully furnished houses for rent. You can find 2nd hand shops along Beaufort Street, close to the city. Another option is to look for ads in newspaper, for garage sale or under Sales column for household furnitures. You can also try Osborne Park for Factory Direct furnitures. Sometimes, you might be able to pick up good bargain. Though you will need someone to guide you there.
