Vacationing in perth Australia?

My wife is going to Perth in Dec. 4 about a month and a half for vacation,..can anyone recomend a reasonable, CLEAN, SAFE Hostel not too far from the beach,SAFE & CLEAN are most important,Thank you for your help!

For beach your best bet is the Scarborough Backpacker Resort it is around twenty bucks and the best location as far as the beach goes. YHA has a hostel in Perth city which fits the bill,,hey Perth is one of the cleanest citys, not to far to beachs etc.

Vacation in Perth??!! I wish you luck. Unless you are in your 20's and love getting drunk and nothing else, you may find Perth the most boring city in the world. There is absolutely no quality entertainment, no opera, theatre (yes, we do have the infrastructure but we don't attract anything really).. live bands are only low quality Northbridge get-drunk-slam.. nothing stylish or upmarket. I had to go to Melbourne to see Fiddler on the roof, to Sydney to see B. Streissand, etc..The only classy entertainment is Sheraton with a lonely pianist playing to an empty space and Gershwin fine dining where again, you have a pianist. There used to be nice Fri and Sat night at Sheraton with a Latin band but the Manager thought it is too much fun and stopped it. I have spent 10 years in this city (and also all around the world Paris, NYC, all Italy) and have had enough. Trust me: if you want a vacation in Oz try Melbourne or Sydney.
