Where is a good place to stay in Perth outside of the city? |
Travel Info What area would you recommend that is near public transport and is interesting for visitors who have never been there before? Travel Tips Cottesloe. It's on the coast, near heaps of beautiful beaches. It is near public transport, halfway between the city and Fremantle, the two largest centres. Anywhere else would be a compromise. Others Why would you want to stay outside the city? I reckon that since you're a visitor and it will be your first time there, you should make the most of your trip by staying in the city. I am sure you will have a much better time. There are many reasonably priced hotels in Perth city. I recommend Aarons Perth Hotel or Criterion Hotel. They are three star hotels located in a great area and costs between 80-90 US dollars. Check out www.excelloz.com for more information on hotels in Perth. Northbridge. It is a very easy walk into the city center and not far at all from the train. 10-15 min. walk I stayed here for two weeks while I was visiting Perth and it was very convenient to everything. You would be better off in the city. Medina Grand in Mounts Bay road is an excellent place to stay. Close to public transport, and it is a 15 minute walk from Northbridge (where all the food places and cafes are). It is also very close to Kings park. If you're not going to stay in the city, then South Perth would be a good option. It's got a good selection of accomodation, plenty of places to eat, is close to Perth Zoo and public transport, and the city is easily accessible by a regular ferry service. If you get the right accomodation, you should also have a great view of the city - it looks great lit up at night. Karrinyup Waters Resort --- is a caravan park with separate cabin accommodation, swimming pool, laundry, etc. in a lovely setting, public transport goes right past the front gate, about 20 minutes from the city, we stayed there for 8 weeks & hardly used the car at all |
