Anyone here from Perth WA? |
Travel Info if so feel free to IM me on either this or mitchellhardman1@hotmail.com Travel Tips I was born in Perth, Western Australia. I have lived there my whole life (I'm in my teens). Where are you from? Other parts of Australia, USA or England etc? Perth is a very good city in Australia although we are quite a way from the other cities such as Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane etc. My family have driven across Australia from Perth to Adelaide in SA, Melbourne in Vic, Canberra in ACT (Australian Capital Territory) and up to Sydney in NSW. We drove over 10000km. I would recommend flying although driving is a different experience. I have been to all of the states in Australia and most of the main cities (except Darwin in NT and Hobart in TAS on family holidays. We have also been to the rock (Uluru etc). Perth has some very fine dining. Fremantle has pretty good pizza and pasta as well as fish and chips. I would recommend the Hyatt hotel cafe (you don't have to stay there) for one of the best buffet dinners and desserts in Perth. It's pretty expensive about $40AUD (australian dollars) per person although included is obviously as much as you can eat of roast dinner, shellfish such as crab, prawns, mussels etc, huge range of salads, breads and vegies as well as my personal favourite, the desserts as well as cheeses. There is a huge range of the best desserts. It's delicious! Also, I would go to Kings Park for a walk or picnic which is really nice. The belltower which they built a few years ago is dissappointing (others probably disagree...it is really small). Perth City has some good department stores and other stores and fast food etc although fastfood is scattered around Perth. The carousel shopping centre is huge and Karrinyup shopping centre in the suburb of Karrinyup is really good. It has department stores such as Myer and David Jones as well as other stores for clothes and supermarkets for groceries. It's pretty big. I would recommend shopping there. It's airconditioned as well which is pleasant I hope I've helped! Also, a must do in Summer is to go to Cottesloe Beach. IT is a really nice swimming beach with clear ocean usually and not as many waves as some of the other beaches in Perth. It's absolutely paradise in Summer. A day trip to Rottnest Island on a ferry is also great. Some of the swimming spots are crystal clear almost. It's so nice. I'd also hire a bike over there so you can ride around the Island. The ferry departs from Fremantle and takes about 35 minutes to get to the Island. The cinemas for movies are also great as well as of course Perth Zoo. It's a really nice Zoo with great exhibits. It has elephants, girraffes, kangaroos, echidnas, zebras, painted dogs, rhinoceros's, reptiles, birds, monkeys etc. It's great. I hope I've been of some help! Have a great time in Perth.
