IT jobs in Oz? What skills are most in demand? |
Travel Info Am about to migrate to Oz and I currently work as an IT Manager - can anyone tell me what IT skills are mostly in demand. Which skill/s will most definately get me a job? Plus which cities would you recommend for me to settle in? I have already searched sites like seek.com.au - what am really looking for are answers from everyday life/personal experience. Looking forward to some informative answers...... Travel Tips Do you want to work as an IT manager or a 'worker'? The skillsets are quite different. You've look on seek.com.au so you've got a good idea of what skills are required but from my experience companies are always looking for SAP implementation experience, Unix/Linux administrators, Oracle DBA's. Cities - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane are the biggest with the most demand for people (in that order). Each of those cities have their good and bad points. Search thru some of the answers here for people's opinions on each city. Others First I do not know what you mean bu OZ. but what I know in general now is that there is a high demand of network administrators, IT consulent and sometimes solution developpers wherever in the world and they are well paid . Check out the skills shortage lists, I'm attaching the Sydney and selected areas one. If you can get sponsored visa, it'll make life much easier for you.
