About Perth? |
Travel Info I've heard that in Perth, it is cheaper to live. But are the job salaries cheap too? Travel Tips Perth used to be a very cheap city to live in but as our economy has boomed, so has the cost of living. Rents have gone up, quite substantially but wages are up too. Employers are desperate for staff and are paying very good rates for all types of jobs, whether your a cleaner, receptionist or a skilled worker. Others It probably is cheaper to live salaries go on award rates - not where you live youve heard wrong, perth is not the cheapest place to live, it was maybe 5 years ago, but since there was a big boom in western australia, property and rent is just about the highest in the australia, maybe second to sydney. but there is plenty of work here, there are a lot of jobs and good money to be earned. it is not cheap to live there if your status is high the salary is high. if you rent a place, and depending on where, you could pay from $170- onwards p/wk. and thats for a standard house. im not sure about apartments but jobs pay accordingly. :) perth is a booming city so don't expect life to easy here. i've heard that real estate including rents here are same as sydney now. salaries are based on a standard regulated by the asutralian government. It's not EXPENSIVE to live here. If you are working full-time you'll have enough for everything you need plus a little left over to have some fun. As far as I know, salaries aren't any different than the rest of Australia. Main problems are low rental vacancies at the moment so it's hard to find a place and they cost more than they used to, but still aren't that bad. House prices have gone up too, I think the median price is around $400,000. Overall, it's an affordable city, but probably not CHEAP exactly. |
