Travel Info What's the best time to visit Peru? Travel Tips Note that their seasons are reversed from North America, first of all. The suggestions to visit during winter would be during our summer, obviously. I lived in Peru for two years, and found that the seasons vary dramatically, depending on what part of the country you are in. The coast is pretty mild year round; the jungle gets unbelieveably hot during the summer there, and the mountains can get pretty stinking cold during the winters. So it depends on what you want to do in Peru. For just general sightseeing, I'd recommend March-April or Sept-Oct. Note that flights get more expensive during Christmas and the national holiday, Fiestas Patrias, July 28th.
