240 volts in peru. often without grounding, and often surges. you can buy an adapter in most ferretarias- hardware stores there in peru, for about $10 for a small one or $15 for one with more capacity. some things like laptops and camera battery charges run both 120-240 and no adapter is needed. maybe only adapter for three prong to 2 prong- no ground other countries have 240 also and there are all kinds of funny adapter for the wall. you can usually pick up the adapters for $1-$2 at the grocery store. easy Source(s): lived there
