Travel Info i'm traveling to Peru soon and i was wondering how much stuff i could get with my dollar...about how much does a simple item like a soda cost? Travel Tips 1 kg of papas =1 sol 1 kg of arroz =1 sol i kg of Small fish (good fried up) =1sol 1 kg of oranges =2 soles 1 kilo of straw berries =3 soles 1 kilo of meat(sometimes good sometimes not) =8 soles 1 hr internet =1sol three course meal rice, meat, salad, =4 sols 1 ltr soda =3 soles Average unskilled wage = 2-4 sol/hr these are the prices I experienced while living there. The Markets are great once you get used to them. Others You will find food and clothing inexpensive and of good quality. Of course depends on where you go, if you go to a fancy place you will be spending as much or more as here at a fancy place... Always ask the locals, they will know where to get better deals. Also ask where is dangerous, so you don't go there. The average family can live with $300 - $400 a month, so that gives you an idea. (I am not saying everybody earnings are that (they can be in the thousands), but on average. Sodas are expensive, as well as candy. People drinks lemonades and stuff and eats fruit instead.
