What is the best time of the year to visit Cuzco ( Peru)? |
Travel Info I herad there are time when it's packed with tourists..I'd like to go during a quieter time.. any advice? Thanks Travel Tips Cuzco is always packed!, but usually august or september should be the best time..Because down there in so America, they have summer from dec thru march, so locals go to Cuzco. June, july and part of august is again packed because peruvian schools are in vacation.June 24th is when they have a special celebration, so it's packed also. So try september, or october..good luck! Others December and January but away from the holidays, as in early December or late January. It麓s summer then. Most Americans and Europeans come during their summer which is winter in Peru. A local I met once who owns a hotel there said May was a nice time. The weather was mild and not too many tourists. Between October and March is the rainy season. It's no good idea to go to Cuzco or any place in the peruvian sierra or jungle. Some of the tours may be closed, like the road to Machu Picchu. Between April and September is the best season. In July and August is almost impossible to find accomodation, unless you do it in advance. I'm a native peruvian. yeap...from June to August our main square is filled with tourist..wich is great , we like them to come :) September and part of october is rainy season ..the rain over here gets pretty heavy, there are some weird people who like that :), but I don't think you'll feel like going and walk around the city over that time; so I'll recomend March to May for coming.... is it your first time in South america?, you'll like it ..pls, feel free to write if you want more info or something; Good luck! :) |
